The celebrations took place at the Monument of Military and Labour Glory of Penza Residents on Tuesday, February 23, 2021.
The ceremony began with a prayer service in the chapel of St. Michael the Archangel. The participants paid tribute to the memory of the soldiers who died for the freedom and independence of the Motherland in different wars.
Then flowers and wreaths were laid at the Eternal Flame.
"The Russian soldier at all times showed fortitude and selflessness, demonstrated readiness to endure anything in the name of his Homeland. We are proud of our heroes, all those who contributed to the military glory of Russia," said Ivan Belozertsev, commenting on the event.
