On Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at a briefing session in the Penza Oblast Government Ivan Belozertsev ordered to organise the transfer of veterans to vaccination centres with vehicles purchased using budget funds.
During the session Aleksandr Nikishin, the Penza Oblast Minister of Health, reported on the current epidemiological situation related to the spread of coronavirus infection in the region. According to him, the situation remains stable, the number of patients hospitalised daily with COVID-19 does not increase, and the total number of them, as in the rest of the country, is decreasing.
The Penza Oblast is carrying out a large-scale work to vaccinate the population, with 40 thousand people already vaccinated.
This week, a new batch of the vaccine is to arrive in even larger volumes, in this regard, the number of vaccination centres has been increased from 45 to 60.
The Governor highlighted the need to vaccinate, first of all, representatives of the older generation, and stressed the importance of awareness-building work with the population.
"Many elderly people who have contracted a coronavirus infection die, unfortunately. We mustn't put veterans at risk," Ivan Belozertsev emphasised.
"By vaccinating the elderly, we keep them alive and healthy," he added.
The Governor noted the proven safety of Russian vaccines and ordered to organise the transfer of veterans to vaccination centres and back with vehicles purchased using budget funds.
"There are new vehicles in medical institutions, we need to use them for their intended purpose," the Governor summed up.
