From May 15 to 20, Nizhny Novgorod hosted the "Student Spring Talent Show". This year, the traditional creative festival included a special programme dedicated to science. Valery Falkov, Minister of Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation, noted that both creativity and science allow people to make up and realise their ideas.
For five days, the contestants took part in an extensive cultural and educational programme, which included city tours, visits to master classes and concert venues.
The Penza Oblast was represented by 15 Penza State University students and three students of the Penza State Technological University.
Sergey Mitrofanov, a student of the PSU Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, a soloist of the Governor's Symphony Chapel conducted by Vladimir Kashirsky, Honoured Artist of Russia, became the winner in the category "Academic Vocal (solo)" performing Mario Cavaradossi's aria from the third act of J. Puccini's opera Tusca. This time Sergey got the third prize of the "Russian Student Spring Talent Show", but previous years he got only bronze.
The Mix-music vocal ensemble (led by N. Maksimova) of the Faculty of History and Philology took the 3rd place in the category "Pop singing (groups)" with the song Somebody to Love. The Mix-Music line-up consisted of Maria Melnikova, Irina Syromyatnikova, Daria Tseplyayeva, Daria Lagutova, Dmitry Smyatsky, Alina Markina, Karina Martyushina, Yekaterina Bizina, Daria Martynyuk, Karina Margaryan, Valeria Lavrinenko, Yana Serova and Anastasia Orekhova.
The Grand Prix of the XXIX All-Russian festival "Russian Student Spring Talent Show" in the team competition went to the Saratov Oblast. The Kemerovo Oblast, the Republic of Tatarstan and the Perm Oblast were among the three winners of the team competition.
The XXX "Russian Student Spring Talent Show-2022" will be held in Samara.
