The meeting of the acting Governor of the Penza Oblast and the Chairman of the Committee of the RF Federation Council on Social Policy took place on Friday, May 21, 2021.
Opening the business communication, the acting head of the region thanked the senator and her colleagues for the visit to Penza. He stressed the importance of the work carried out in the region by Andrey Kaprin, Director General of the National Medical Research Centre of Radiology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Director of the P. Gertsen Moscow Scientific and Research Oncological Institute and chief consultant oncologist of the RF Ministry of Health.
"Our region's residents need an oncological service that meets all modern requirements," Oleg Melnichenko explained.
"As the acting Governor, I consider it necessary to take a whole range of measures in the near future to change the situation in oncology for the better," he added.
In particular, the acting head of the region announced his intention to modernise the equipment of the oncological dispensary.
"We will see what can be done with the service of primary outpatient clinics in large towns of our region," he said. "I think that we need to implement all the best that is currently available in the oncology service practice in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other regions."
The head of the Committee of the Federation Council pointed out the importance of primary care.
"You are absolutely right that it is the issues related to primary health care that are important," Inna Svyatenko emphasised.
"We arrived with a group of senators who will touch upon issues related to social services and the work of NGOs during our meeting today. And of course, I would like to see myself the unique results that have been achieved in the field of inclusive tourism. I know that the Penza Oblast's attitude to people with disabilities is truly remarkable. Therefore, we want to spread the experience of your province throughout the Russian Federation," she concluded.
