On Friday, August 6, 2021, the meeting of the Penza Oblast Election Commission was held.
Oleg Melnichenko was proclaimed as a candidate for the region's governor at the conference of the Penza regional branch of the All-Russian political party United Russia on June 14. On July 17, he submitted required documents to the Election Commission, and on July 30 he handed in documents to be registered as a candidate.
"Having checked the received documents, the working group found that the nomination of a candidate for the Penza Oblast governor was held in accordance with the federal law "On Political Parties", the charter of the United Russia political party and the law of the Penza Oblast "On the election of the Governor of the Penza Oblast". All the required documents have been submitted," said Aleksey Klimukhin, Deputy Chairman of the Penza Oblast Election Commission.
Aleksandr Sinyukov, chairman of the Election Commission, handed Oleg Melnichenko an ID of a candidate for governor.
"I am grateful to the members of the regional Election Commission for the fact that the work on checking the submitted documents and signatures was carried out efficiently and very quickly," the candidate for governor replied. "I undertake the obligation to conduct the election campaign honestly and without violations of the law."
