The acting governor said this during voting at his polling station on Friday, September 17, 2021.
On a single voting day on September 19, 2021, the Penza Oblast will hold:
- election of deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation;
- early election of the Penza Oblast Governor;
- election of the Kamensky district Assembly of Representatives deputies;
- election of the Serdobsky district Assembly of Representatives deputies;
- by-election of deputies of individual municipalities representative bodies.
According to the acting governor, who voted one of the first - right after the polling station had opened - all necessary measures have been taken in the Penza Oblast to comply with sanitary and epidemiological requirements.
There are the Penza Oblast Election Commission and 33 territorial election commissions in the region. 1067 polling stations have been established and are operating for the conduct of voting and counting of votes.
"All election commissions and polling stations are ready for the election. The Penza Oblast government has provided support for the purchase of sanitizers, masks — everything that is necessary to organise a normal voting process," Oleg Melnichenko informed.
"The main thing for us is to make people feel safe, so that the possibility of spreading coronavirus infection is minimized," the acting head of the Penza Oblast stressed.
