The solemn ceremony of handing over the document took place at a meeting of the Penza Oblast election commission on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
The election commission members signed a protocol on the results of the early election of the region's governor and adopted a resolution. The election was considered valid.
"I am very grateful for your well-coordinated work during the preparation and holding of the election of the Penza Oblast governor. Thank you very much for the work that you did honestly and impartially. We, in turn, also did not violate the law," the acting governor addressed the election commission.
He also thanked all the Penza Oblast residents who voted for him for their support.
"You gave me the benefit of the doubt, and I need to prove my trustwothiness with good deeds and active work to make a difference for our region's residents," Oleg Melnichenko stressed.
"My priority is the quality of people's lives and improving our citizens' well-being," he concluded.
Oleg Melnichenko takes office as the Penza Oblast governor on September 28, 2021.
