On September 11 the grand opening of the first school Quantorium in the Volga Federal District and the Penza Oblast took place at the Penza Lyceum of Modern Management Technologies No. 2. The new educational organisation was established thanks to the "Education" national project.
The guests of honour were Oleg Yagov, acting First Deputy Chairman of the regional Government, and Aleksandr Voronkov, Acting Minister of Education.
On behalf of the acting Governor of the Penza Oblast Oleg Melnichenko, Oleg Yagov congratulated the participants of the event. "We are proud that the Penza Oblast and the Penza Lyceum of Modern Management Technologies No. 2 became the first among 14 regions of the Volga Federal District, where a school Quantorium was opened. This is the result of a huge work by the Ministry of Education, the Penza Education Department, and, of course, the lyceum itself," Oleg Yagov stressed.
"The school Quantorium will make it possible to bring high-tech additional education closer to the school environment, so that students receive new knowledge without leaving the school building," said Aleksandr Voronkov.
The work of the Quantorium will be conducted in 6 fields: physics, chemistry, biology, aero-geo, robotics and high-tech. More than 21 million rubles were allocated for equipping laboratories.
"The Quantorium has created an opportunity for organising extracurricular activities in innovative areas: geoinformation technologies, high-tech and robotics on a completely different level and aerial modeling based on quadrocopters. Now we have a number of new activities in which children of different specialties will develop," said Alla Stepanova, head of the school technopark. "All teachers have passed not only the relevant specialised training in the subjects, but also learnt how to work using new equipment."
Not only students of the lyceum, but also those of other Penza schools will be able to study at the Quantorium.
In 2017, the first children's "Quantorium NEL" technopark was created in the region. In 2020, the mobile Quantorium "Quantotrak" began working there.
