On September 15, 2021, the inclusive excursion route "Penza: Past and Present" was tested. The participants of the project were young people from the unique centre "Kvartal Lui". The project was organised by the Penza Oblast Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Larieltur tour operator.
During the one-day tour, the participants went sightseeing in Penza, learnt the history of streets, buildings and squares, found out more about the city's past and about the people who made Penza famous.
The tourists also visited the Governor's House, where they saw the masterpieces of Russian and Western European art and visited the interactive exhibition "Real-life History. The Crossroads of Civilizations" in the I. Ulyanov Museum.
"After checking the route, we identified a number of its advantages and disadvantages. I would like to note that there are problems with logistics in the city's food outlets: either the entrance is insufficiently equipped, or the passage is narrow - this problem has to be solved. But in general, the tour gave was a positive experience," Ildar Mavlyudov, Acting Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Penza Oblast, commented.
The project is being implemented as part of the execution of acting governor Oleg Melnichenko's order to organise an action plan for the development of inclusive tourism in the Penza Oblast.
In the future, a two-day inclusive tourist route will be made up. According to Ildar Mavlyudov, an alternative route with a visit to the Legenda Park is already being worked on.
