Oleg Melnichenko stressed the need for a systematic approach in the implementation of the "Sport is the Norm of Life" project of the "Demography" national project, approved by the President of the Russian Federation.
"The project is aimed at creating decent conditions not only for the development of high-performance sports, but also for mass workouts. And our task is to provide equal opportunities for residents of large and small settlements," the head of the region noted.
He pointed out that active work to create a sports infrastructure is underway in the Penza Oblast. Special attention is paid to the construction of sites for preparing the population to meet the Ready for Labour and Defence standards.
From 2019 to 2021, 20 similar sites have been installed in the Penza Oblast municipalities: in Penza, Kuznetsk, Zarechny, as well as in Bashmakovsky, Bessonovsky, Vadinsky, Gorodishchensky, Zemetchinsky, Issinsky, Kamensky, Kolyshleysky, Kuznetsky, Luninsky, Mokshansky, Nizhnelomovsky, Nikolsky, Pachelmsky, Penzensky, Serdobsky and Shemysheysky districts.
It is planned to construct four more sports grounds in 2022. About 10 million rubles will be allocated from the federal and regional budgets for this purpose. The set of equipment includes a complex for performing a standing jump, a target for throwing a ball and a crossbar for pull-ups. In addition, there are horizontal, monkey, wall and parallel bars, gymnastic benches, a wall for climbing with hooks, an excersice bike, and cardio and weight machines.
"It is important to take a systematic approach to solving this issue, to install sports grounds in rural areas, according to, among other things, the residents' wishes," the governor set the task.
