The results of the VIII International Iranian geometry competition, which took place on November 5, 2021, have been summed up.
Students from 57 countries took part in the competition. Penza Provincial Lyceum students namely Maksim Ivanov, Roman Myasnikov and Vadim Abramov won one silver and two bronze medals.
Note: The competition has been held since 2014. Currently, it is one of the most prestigious mathematical competitions for schoolchildren.
It is held in written form, with tasks divided into three levels of difficulty:
* Elementary (7-8th grades);
* Medium (9-10th grades);
* Advanced (11th grades or 11-12th grades as in Iran).
The Elementary Level tasks should be solved within four hours, and the other two levels - within 4.5 hours each. If you provide a correct complete answer to each task, you get 8 points. If the task is not completed, but the participant has taken some steps in the right direction, the Iranian jury can also give them some points according to certain criteria.
