The construction of a modern clinical and diagnostic laboratory complex at the Penza Regional Clinical Centre for Specialised Types of Medical Care is almost completed.
Builders are starting the construction of the last, mechanical, floor. Simultaneously, work is underway on interior decoration and glass fixing.
The launch of the new medical facility is planned for autumn 2022.
"The laboratory, which is being built as a free-standing building, is unique not only for the Penza Oblast," Sergey Rybalkin, chief physician of the Penza Regional Clinical Centre for Specialised Types of Medical Care says. "This is an advanced facility of the entire Russian healthcare system, the project of which is supported at the federal level."
The expansion of the range of clinical diagnostic and microbiological studies, which will be soon available to conduct at the facility, as well as improving the accuracy of their results are the determining factors in the diagnosis and selection of a patient treatment protocol.
"Recently, the laboratory service has greatly advanced in terms of technical approaches to diagnostics and our new laboratory will take this into account as much as possible, because the more a doctor knows about a microorganism, the more efficient he is," Sergey Rybalkin notes. "Thanks to the laboratory, we will be able to make a diagnosis in the first day. For comparison, now these terms do not exceed 5 days."
The high-tech equipment purchased for the new laboratory complex has already been delivered. Notable that a significantly increased volume of ongoing research will not entail a burden on medical personnel thanks to the automation of laboratory research processes.
"Our strategic task is to undertake all the high-tech research that patients need," Sergey Rybalkin concludes.
Note that the expansion of the Penza Regional Clinical Centre for Specialised Types of Medical Care is being carried out in another direction: currently, design and estimate documentation is being prepared for the construction of a new building with 120 infectious beds, an outpatient hospital, as well as a centre for the prevention and control of AIDS and infectious diseases.
In modern epidemiological situation, the new building will satisfy the lack of the infectious beds for the treatment of severe patients during peak periods of morbidity, as well as reduce the forced conversion of other medical facilities to treat patients with infectious diseases.
