Aleksandr Yegorov, a schoolboy from Zarechny, became one of the laureates of the Karlov Readings International Children's and Youth Educational Project.
The award ceremony will take place at the forum of the same name at the Victory Museum in Moscow on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. The winners and their mentors will meet with representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and visit the "The Battle for Moscow. First Victory" exhibition.
The forum is organised by the A. Karlov International Foundation for the Promotion of Relations in the Field of Culture, Science, Education, and the Social Sphere together with the Victory Museum and the Moscow International School in Antalya, Turkey.
In 2021, 23 works by authors from different regions of Russia and Turkey reached the final of the competition. The winner of the I degree was Maria Shumskaya from Novosibirsk, the winner of the II degree was Aleksandr Yegorov from Zarechny, Penza Oblast, and the winners of the III degree were Aleksandra Yakushenko from the city of Klintsy and Ilya Amekhin from Moscow.
Participants wrote essays in Russian on topics related to the history of Russian culture, its nature, ecology, literature, politics and relevant problems.
The works were evaluated by an expert jury that included Aleksandr Shkolnik, Director of the Victory Museum, Deputy Secretary of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Aleksandr Kolesnikov, Professor of the Department of International Humanitarian Relations at St. Petersburg State University, Andrey Volkov, leading expert, chief adviser of the Department of the Middle East and North Africa of the RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yaroslav Skvortsov, Dean of the Faculty of International Journalism in Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and Mehmet Hakkı Yazıcı economist, political scientist and writer.
The International Children's and Youth Forum is named after Andrey Karlov, Russian ambassador in Turkey, who was killed at the end of 2016 at the opening of a photo exhibition. The diplomat was awarded the title of Hero of Russia posthumously.
