The final stage of the All-Russian Schoolchildren Olympiad in physics was held on the Sirius federal territory on April 2-7, with 367 people from 68 regions of the country taking part in the intellectual competition. Maksim Ivanov, the Provincial Lyceum 9th grade student, represented the Penza Oblast there.
The final consisted of two rounds – an experimental one and a theoretical one - which took place on April 3-4 at the Sirius Presidential Lyceum. In the first block, the children had to perform practical tasks, figure out how to use the proposed equipment to find the set values or analyse dependencies.
In the theoretical block, it was necessary to solve five tasks. All tasks were unusual and complicated. They were developed by the All-Russian Schoolchildren Olympiad's Central Subject-Methodological Commission that includes experts from leading Russian universities and educational institutions: MIPT, Moscow State University, Zh. Alfyorov Academic University, Ural Federal University and Presidential Lyceum No. 239. Participants were required to demonstrate mastery of topics and approaches to solving problems and the ability to think outside the box.
Maksim Ivanov became the winner of the final stage of the All-Russian Schoolchildren Olympiad in physics.
