On Tuesday, April 19, the Government of the Penza Oblast held a meeting of the working group of the Council on Interethnic and Interfaith Relations.

The event was chaired by Oleg Yagov, the First Deputy Chairman of the Government and Deputy Chairman of the Council. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Internal and Information Policy Pavel Maslov, representatives of the regional departments of the Ministry of Interior and the FSB, the Prosecutor's Office, as well as the administrations of the city of Penza, Nizhnelomovsky, and Penza districts.

The meeting considered the migration situation in the Penza Oblast following the results of the first quarter of 2022. In addition, the measures taken by local self-government bodies to adapt foreign citizens who arrived in the region, including labour migrants from neighbouring countries, were discussed.

"Today, for objective reasons, our economy cannot do without attracting foreign labour. Therefore, it is necessary to work on the integration of migrants into our society. It is important that people who come to us are informed in a timely manner about the provisions of the Russian Federation legislation, including migration, medical care and other public services that they may need. In addition, the authorities should be interested in what conditions migrant workers live in order to exclude the possibility of various conflict situations, including on ethnic conflicts." Oleg Yagov said.
It was decided to intensify the work in this direction.
