The federal stage of the All-Russian competition of young environmentalists "Discovery 2030" took place, where a schoolgirl from Penza won a prize.
The organizers of the competition were the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Federal Center for Additional Education, Recreation and Health Improvement of Children. The purpose of the competition is to identify and develop students' interest and abilities in design, research, engineering, inventive, creative activities aimed at studying natural and engineering sciences, improving natural science literacy, forming an environmentally responsible worldview, personal self-realization, and professional self-determination of schoolchildren.
556 works from 75 regions of the country were submitted to the federal correspondence stage of the competition. After the expert evaluation, 181 works from 52 regions of the Russian Federation and the Lugansk People's Republic were admitted to the final stage. The participants of the competition were students aged 10 to 18 years.
Two research papers from Penza were submitted to the final stage: "How to manage your time" by Elizaveta Korotkova, a student of Penza School No. 20, and "City without garbage" by Aleksei Zetkin, a student of Penza Financial and Economic Lyceum No. 29. According to the results of the final stage in this prestigious competition, Elizaveta Korotkova took second place in the nomination "Health".
