On May 18, the opening of the X International Student Forum "Dialogue of Cultures" took place. It was attended by representatives of 53 foreign countries of Europe, Central and South-East Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Central America, who chose Penza State University for higher education. For the first time, citizens of Belarus, Gabon, Myanmar, Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics took part in the forum programme.
The main purpose of the forum is to unite students from different countries, to create opportunities for intercultural communication and exchange of ideas, as well as respectful international relations among young people.
This year the motto of the student forum is "Let's Build a Better Future for the World". Dr. Bashir Samaha, Director General of the National Arab-Russian Association from Lebanon, was an honorary guest of the forum.
First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Penza Oblast Oleg Yagov addressed the forum participants with a welcoming speech, noting the importance of developing the culture of the peoples living in Russia and building intercultural communications. He also thanked the PSU management for the high organizational level of the forum.
The event was attended by the national cultural autonomies of the region, which presented their ethnocultural features, crafts, literature and folklore potential.
