Penza Oblast Team Won Sports and Tourist Camp of Volga Federal District "Turiada"

In the Saratov Oblast, from May 17 to May 21, 2022, the traditional sports and tourist camp of the Volga Federal District "Turiada 2022" took place.
Turiada is a project aimed at identifying the best athletes–tourists of the district and promoting tourism as a positive form of cultural leisure. The camp is held in order to form the values of a healthy lifestyle and patriotism among young people through involvement in sports and cultural and educational tourism.
- The project is being implemented with the support of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov. In 2022, the ninth "Turiada" gathered more than 500 participants from all oblasts of the district. It is important that the sports and tourist camp has reached the international level this year, the national team of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in the competitions, - said Natalia Alekseeva, head of the RGS Youth Club.
Students of Penza State University, activists of the youth club of the Russian Geographical Society were invited to the Penza Oblast team to compete in educational tourism and the "Music of Hearts" song contest. Yegor Nuzhdin took 3rd place in the interregional song competition "Music of Hearts" in the "Full author" nomination, Aleksandr Kuzmin was awarded third place in the same song contest in the nomination "Author of the song text".
- Students of the PSU took the honorable 3rd place in the competition "Tourist presentations of the regions of the Volga Federal District", - said Natalia Alekseeva.
In 2022, Ekaterina Lazutina, Anastasia Bogachkina, Ekaterina Inozemtseva, Nikita Sidorov, Kristina Tikhonova, and Elmira Akhmetova joined the team led by Natalia Alekseeva, senior lecturer of the Geography Department of PSU, head of the RGS Youth Club. The competitors made a presentation entitled "The Crystal Heart of Russia", accompanying it with a story about the Nikolsk Museum of Glass and Crystal, and also demonstrated a variety of crystal products, including the famous firecracker glass with a fly.
