Conference on Archeology of the Eastern European forest-steppe Held in Institute of Regional Development

The interregional scientific conference "Archeology of the Eastern European Forest-steppe" was held in Penza. It was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Institute of Regional Development rector, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Gennady Belorybkin.
The Minister of Education Aleksei Komarov addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.
"On behalf of the Governor Oleg Melnichenko, I want to wish everyone fruitful work. A few years ago, I was lucky enough to go on an expedition with our esteemed professor. Touching Russian history and culture gives incredible energy," said the minister.
The event was attended by leading archaeologists, as well as numismatists from different cities of Russia - Yoshkar–Ola, Kazan, Izhevsk, Samara, Ulyanovsk. Their reports were mainly devoted to the study of the medieval history of the Volga region and the Urals.
In particular, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Head of the A. H. Khalikov Institute of Archeology Airat Sitdikov and Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Centre for Archaeological and Ethnological Research, Head of the Department, Associate Professor of the Department of General History of Mari State University Yuri Zeleneev presented the study "Volga Cities of the Golden Horde: Emergence, Development and Decline".
A team of scientists from the Republic of Tatarstan presented a report about two groups of Horde pools of the XIV century.
Gennady Belorybkin and Vladimir Bezdudny, Head of the Laboratory of Archaeological Geophysics, researcher at the A.H. Khalikov Institute of Archaeology, prepared a report on the geophysical research (magnetometry)of Nikolsky village in the Kuznetsky District.
The organizing committee of the forum included Vladimir Pervushkin, Vice-Rector for Research at the Institute of Regional Development, and Vladimir Vinnichek, Director of the institute’s Historical and Cultural Heritage Center.
