The grand opening of the Centre for the Prevention of Destructive Behaviour "Dvor" took place in the Youth House.
The Penza Oblast has become the first region where, on the initiative of the Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova and with the support of regional departments, the presidential program "Teenagers of Russia" is being implemented.
The event was attended by the Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova, the Minister of Labour, Social Protection and Demography of the region Aleksei Kachan, and the Minister of Education of the Penza Oblast Aleksey Komarov.
"This project is primarily aimed at preventing neglect and violations by teenagers. We have many centres and clubs for children, but there were no such places for teenagers. The Ministry deals with the parents in difficult life situations. We try our best to get them out of it so that they are more engaged with their children. Now we will be able to pay attention to the children themselves. I would like to note that there will be close cooperation in terms of temporary employment. We will definitely set up the work of the "Dvor" and employment centres so that the teens can not only find a job to their liking, but also in the future they can find a job and get real money for it," Alexey Kachan said.
After a short tour, a presentation of the key areas of the centre’s work took place. The "Dvor" centre is open to all teenagers. Its main task is to identify and work with children who are in a difficult life situation or prone to deviant behaviour.
The space of 150 square meters is designed for children aged 12-18 years. Also, if necessary, children will receive psychological support (a psychologist will conduct open group trainings on the development of personal skills, work with communication and self-determination, and will also be able to work with each teenager individually) and earn money (five processes will be organized in the space, performing which children will receive local currency "D", which can be exchanged for small goods).
At the end of the solemn event, an agreement on cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Demography of the region, the autonomous non-profit organization "Kvartal Lui" and the Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of the Russian Federation.
