The solemn ceremony with the participation of the Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the RF President in the Volga Federal District Oleg Mashkovtsev and the head of the Penza Oblast Oleg Melnichenko took place on the parade ground of the Military Academy of Logistics of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
The Yunarmy military-patriotic training camps of the Volga Federal District is called "Guardsman". It is a specialized form of organizing military-patriotic education of teenagers. The project was initiated by the office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District, aimed at developing the creative potential of the individual, strengthening the health and patriotic education of young people, as well as obtaining their initial knowledge in the field of state defence and military service.
On behalf of the Plenipotentiary Representative Igor Komarov, Deputy Plenipotentiary Oleg Mashkovtsev read out a greeting to the participants of the training camp.
"Military-patriotic education of young people today is one of the most important tasks of the state. The district public project "Guardsman" has been implemented since 2013, and has rightfully gained popularity among your peers. Today, the Yunarmy military-patriotic training camps is the central unifying element of the pre-conscription training system in the district. The training program makes it possible to successfully solve the tasks of initial military training through modelling conditions close to real military service," the message says.
"Today, all regions of the Volga Federal District are represented here," Oleg Mashkovtsev added. - And this is the place for those who were selected based on the results of municipal and regional stages of pre–conscription training events. In this regard, we hope that these events will be useful."
Addressing the participants of the training camp, Oleg Melnichenko noted that this project has long established itself as a good tool for preparing young people for service in the Armed Forces.
"We are already seeing the results of the project's activities – it has become a forge of personnel for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, internal affairs agencies, the Federal Security Service, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the National Guard. Many guys who also stood on the parade ground in 2013 and started the project "Guardsman", now wear officer shoulder straps," the head of the region stated.
The Governor thanked the Plenipotentiary Representative for the decision to elect the Penza Oblast as the permanent and only site in the district for holding military-patriotic training camps "Guardsman".
"This year, for the first time in the history of the "Guardsman", we are hosting all 14 teams of the Volga Federal District, as well as the team of the Donetsk People's Republic. Today, 300 people are standing on the parade ground – these are the best representatives of the Yunarmy movement of the Volga Federal District and the Donetsk People's Republic," Oleg Melnichenko said.
"You will take a basic training course, get acquainted with modern types of weapons and enrich your knowledge of the military history of Russia. You’ll have not only training, but also a good cultural programme. I am sure that the two weeks that you will spend here, on the territory of the legendary Penza Artillery Engineering Institute, will unite you and you will make friends," he summed up.
The head of the Penza region wished the young guards to have a good time, learn a lot, achieve high sports results, and test themselves in the cultural and educational programme.
Theoretical and practical training in the main military disciplines – combat, general physical, shooting, parachute – competitions in paintball, basketball, football, darts and orienteering are provided for the participants of the training camps. Also, there will be cultural events and excursions to the main sights of the Penza region.
