The "Guardsman" Yunarmy training camps of the Volga Federal District are held for the purpose of military-patriotic education of the younger generations. Another objective is to allow young people to demonstrate sports training, learn the basics of military service, get acquainted with modern types of military equipment, and acquire skills in handling small arms.
The project was initiated by the Plenipotentiary Representative Igor Komarov, supported by Governor Oleg Melnichenko and the government of the Penza Oblast.
In 2022, our region for the first time hosted teams from all 14 territories of the Volga Federal District, and the boys from Donbass. A decision has been approved to make the Penza Oblast a permanent venue for district military-patriotic training camps.
Oleg Mashkovtsev, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the RF President in the Volga Federal District, noted that the best of the best pre-conscripts from the regions of the Volga Federal District and the Donetsk People's Republic gathered in the Penza Oblast.
"The participants of the training camps are already motivated to serve in the Armed Forces. This is supported by the name of our project – "The Guardsman", - stated Oleg Mashkovtsev. The training camp program is unique, both in terms of the number of events that make up it, and in their diversity. This makes it possible to successfully solve the tasks of initial military, gun, drill and physical training by modeling conditions close to real military service."
"An additional incentive for intellectual development and physical fitness is provided by the competitive process of training camp programs. Namely, competitions in sports and military-applied disciplines. In order for young people to be convinced and understand why our army is the strongest in the world, we have included classes on the history of the Fatherland, modern tactics and methods of warfare in the training camp program. We also held meetings and lessons of courage with the Heroes of Russia, veterans of counter-terrorism and special military operations," the Plenipotentiary stated.
He thanked the organizers of the training camps – the Ministry of Defense, Russian Army, Air Force and Navy Volunteer Union, as well as the head of the Penza Oblast for their personal support of this project.
Governor Oleg Melnichenko stressed that the first experience of receiving representatives of all regions of the Volga Federal District was a success.
Plenipotentiary Representative of the RF President in the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov stated that now the Guardsman camp will be held on Penza land. For the first time, we gathered 300 people from all regions of the Volga Federal District and the Donetsk People's Republic – and the first time was a success," the Governor noted.
"You have gone through real, army-like training, you have seen what the life of military school cadets is like – you have made friends. Now you will develop the Yunarmy movement in your educational institutions," he added, addressing the young patriots.
"I think that the experience will serve as a starting point in your desire to continue serving your country in the Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies, state security agencies, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. I want to say that such service is necessary for the country and the people. I wish you to follow the chosen path and preserve the memory of the friendship that originated here," Oleg Melnichenko addressed the young participants of the training camp.
During the closing ceremony, a reconstruction of five real battles that took place as part of a special military operation was demonstrated at the training ground using military equipment and blank charges.
On the parade ground, the Yunarmy showed the acquired skills of excellent drill.
According to Aleksandr Kolmakov, the tradition of the Volga Federal District on the organization of such events deserves the respect and dissemination.
"Our Voluntary Society for Assistance to the Army, Aviation and Navy supports this in every way, we will continue to develop and replicate this event in other regions of the Russian Federation," the head of Aleksandr Kolmakov said.
According to the Hero of the Russian Federation Aleksei Romanov, military-patriotic training camps certainly contribute to the education of future defenders of the Fatherland.
"Young people at the training camps have the opportunity to get not only the military skills, they also have the opportunity to meet with active and retired military personnel- heroes of our country. This is especially relevant due to the fact that a special military operation is taking place," he emphasized.
"It is not only possible, but also necessary to be proud of the glory of our ancestors," he added, recalling that this year our country celebrates the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Battle of Stalingrad, which radically changed the course of the Great Patriotic War.
The key element of the closing ceremony was the adoption of the Yunarmy oath of allegiance to the Fatherland, friendship, and service to the principles of goodness and justice.
