Twenty museums of the Penza Oblast have joined the All-Russian programme "School Museum of Victory". The region took the first place in the number of applications. Educational institutions have become partners of the Moscow Victory Museum – the main military history museum of Russia on the subject of the Great Patriotic War and World War II. Among them are the institutions of the cities of Penza and Nizhny Lomov, the villages of Atmis, Iva, Kuvak-Nikolskoye, Novaya Pyatina, Virga, Leshinovo, Golitsyno, Sorokino, Ust-Karemsha of the Nizhnelomovsky district, the village of Konstantinovka of the Penza district, Sosnovoborsk, the villages of Komarovka, Ulyanovsk, Yavleika of the Kuznetsky district, and the villages of Vachelai and Nikolo-Barnuki of the Sosnovoborsky district.
The museums created at educational organizations were approved by the expert commission of the Victory Museum, which summed up the results of the next stage of accepting applications. The stage took place from March to August 2022. In total, during the work of the long-term programme, 104 school museums of the Penza Oblast have been included in it. At the moment, the region has the largest number of partners of the School Museum of Victory project.
"Now, in addition to participating in All-Russian competitions, courses and forums, partners from all over the country can organize their exhibitions in the hall of the Victory Museum. This academic year, for the first time, all exhibitions will be presented by school museums from different parts of our country. This is a serious experience for museum activists from the regions," said Elena Slesarenko, head of the Children's Centre of the Victory Museum.
Experts noted that among the applications there are a large number of museums dedicated to the history of schools and settlements, as well as school museum rooms telling about veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and units of the army and navy.
In total, since 2019, 1,319 museums from 85 regions of Russia, the DPR and Belarus have joined the programme. The partners of the Victory Museum organize the work of permanent and temporary expositions, schoolchildren conduct research work, and their mentors present methodological developments and educational practices at the All-Russian level.
Every museum of an educational institution, regardless of its location, can take part in the School Victory Museum programme and become a partner of the Victory Museum. To do this, you need to fill out a questionnaire or send information about the museum to the email address sertifikatpobedy@cmvov.ru. The decision on the certification of the school museum is carried out by the expert commission of the Victory Museum.
