Mathematics teacher of Penza Provincial Lyceum Mikhail Govorukha was awarded at "Teacher of the Year" competition.
The names of five winners were announced on the stage of the Neftyanik Palace of Culture in Tyumen. They will continue to compete for the title of teacher of the year and the main prize of the competition – a large crystal pelican.
Awards in special nominations were also given at the ceremony.
Mikhail Govorukha, a mathematics teacher of the Penza Provincial Lyceum, was awarded "for the development of the scientific worldview of schoolchildren".
The winner of the main prize, the crystal pelican, will be announced on October 5.
The All-Russian competition "Teacher of the Year" is held for the 33rd time. Every year the competition gathers more than 100 thousand teachers, uniting creative teachers and forming a representative expert community. The founders of the All–Russian competition "Teacher of the Year of Russia" are the Ministry of Education, the All-Russian Trade Union of Education, and Publishing House "Uchitelskaya Gazeta".
