Penza Schoolgirl Becomes Prize-Winner of All-Russian Olympiad in Local Lore Studies

Elizaveta Molchanova, a 9th grade student from the Bolshoy Umys village, Kameshkir district, became a prize-winner of the All-Russian Olympiad in school local history.
The All-Russian Olympiad in School Local Lore is held by the Center for Youth Tourism and Local Lore of the Federal Center for Additional Education and Recreation for Children.
More than 1,200 students from different regions of the Russian Federation took part in the correspondence tour.
180 participants were admitted to the final of the Olympiad. The tests were held from October 10 to 14 in an online format and included a mini-study on a given topic, attribution of a museum object and a quiz on the history and culture of Russia.
The Penza Oblast was represented by the winners of the regional stage – Elizaveta Molchanova (taught by Tatiana Melnikova) and Nikita Serov, a student of the 9th grade of the Pavlo-Kurakino school of Gorodishchensky district (taught by Maryam Kozylova). According to the results, Elizaveta Molchanova became the bronze medalist of the All-Russian Olympiad.
Methodological support of Penza participants of the event was carried out by specialists of the Multifunctional Tourist and Sports Center.
