Maria Kistanova, a student of the Kuznetsk College of Electronic Technologies, was awarded a special nomination in the all-Russian online competition for professional florists, decorators and students of creative specialties of universities and colleges of Russia, which is called "Folk Arts Reboot. Spring in love."
Sergey Simonov, the chief artist of the Gzhel Porcelain Factory, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, member of the Academy of Folk Art of Russia, chose the student's work. Maria received a diploma and a gift.
The competition was held from February 1 to March 1, 2023 with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives and the National Union of Folk Arts and Crafts of Russia.
The objectives of the competition are to study the culture and traditions of Russian regions and families through folk arts and crafts, to develop modern design ideas, and to study and showcase cultural traditions of the peoples of Russia.
There are two categories in the competition: Juniors (students of creative specialties of universities and colleges), and Masters (professional florists and decorators practicing and/or having a special education).
Maria developed a 3D model of a table decor with the obligatory use of folk art under the guidance of her teacher Marina Tiptsova.
Ilyas Zhelaledinov received a certificate of participation for his creative work.
The competition grants a unique opportunity for students and their mentors not only to demonstrate their professional skills, but also to delve into the study of native culture and traditions through folk arts and crafts.
