Society 13.06.2023
Children’s health campaign was discussed in a videoconference mode.
In the Penza Oblast, prefabricated modular facilities were built as part of a pilot project of the RF Federation Council. Each of the two buildings is designed to accommodate 50 people, so 400 more children will be able to visit the Yunost camp during the summer.
Two similar buildings appeared in the children's camp Nadezhda near Kuznetsk.
Senators, leaders and representatives of 15 territories of the Russian Federation took park in the conference organized by the upper house of the Russian parliament.
"This pilot project is designed to modernize the infrastructure of children's recreation through the construction of modular buildings," explained the head of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko.
"I would like to hear from the governors and representatives of the regions about what has been done and what difficulties you came across," the speaker said. Since this is a pilot project, colleagues, I would also like to hear recommendations: what needs to be changed? What are your wishes and suggestions?"
Sergey Kravtsov, the Minister of Education, noted that June 1, 2023 is a special day.
"On the International Children's Day, in pursuance of the instructions of the President, together with 15 regions, we are opening new facilities in the system of children's recreation. This topic is very important today, because the infrastructure of children's camps, like nothing else, needs development and modernization," the Minister explained.
Oleg Melnichenko, speaking on a conference call, evaluated the project highly.
"I really hope that this project will live for more than one year and will allow us to modernize the system of children's summer holidays," the head of the Penza Oblast stressed.
"By joining the project, we got the opportunity to increase the number of children that our camps will be able to accept. In addition, here, in Yunost, we modernized the dining room. The camp has become the base of the Russian movement of children and youth. We plan to make good sports fields next year," he added.
The quality of the structures, and the availability of heating makes it possible to invite children in winter.
New rooms with modern furniture are designed for four people. A separate space is provided for team events. There are rooms for drying, ironing and storage. There are also separate rooms for children with disabilities, including wheelchair users.
"What the Federation Council is doing, what you personally are doing, Valentina Ivanovna, is a very important thing," Oleg Melnichenko summed up. I am sure that the kids are very grateful to you and the Federation Council."
