Senator Vyacheslav Timchenko and Governor Oleg Melnichenko inspected an educational facility under construction in Sputnik.
The new school is designed for 2,425 students, and will be the largest in the Volga region. The construction of the facility was supported by the Chairman of the RF Federation Council Valentina I. Matviyenko.
"Landscaping works are underway. At the beginning of July, the school will be ready, - reported Rafik Ibragimov, Termodom CEO. – We will fulfill the obligations that we took before the governor, i.e., to complete the construction a year earlier. The children will go to school this year on September 1."
The governor clarified that five training profiles will be opened and the new educational institution will have everything required for modern educational process.
"But from the development point of view, another school for 1100 students is needed in Sputnik," Oleg Melnichenko added.
He also explained that the possibility of assigning the largest school of the Volga Federal District the name of a hero associated with the Penza Oblast is being considered.
According to Vyacheslav Timchenko, it would be advisable to conduct a survey of parents who will bring their children to a new educational institution.
"The opinion of the residents, especially the young ones who live in this neighborhood, whose children will study here, must be taken into account," the senator said. - We have a lot of great people in Russia and in the Penza Oblast – not only those who defended our freedom and independence during the Great Patriotic War, but also today defend the borders of our Motherland. I am sure that you have a lot of worthy people."
"I am impressed with the new school. To be honest, I have seen many schools, but I have not yet come across such a large and modern one," Vyacheslav Timchenko stressed.
He also noted the importance of military-patriotic and labor education of schoolchildren. The topic of the arrangement of sports facilities was also raised.
"There are quite well-maintained courtyards in Sputnik," Oleg Melnichenko said. - But there is a need for sports grounds. In the evening, the school will function for older citizens. I am in favor of it being the center of public attraction, so that sports clubs, playgrounds, etc. operate in the building. We will transfer all extracurricular education to school."
The total cost of the facility exceeded 3.2 billion rubles, and it is 85% ready.  The supply of computers, equipment for the food and medical offices, and construction of sports halls has begun. Currently the furniture is being purchased.
