Oleg Melnichenko announced the results for the first five months of 2023.
"As of the end of May, the region ranks 1st in the Volga Federal District and 2nd among all regions of the Russian Federation in terms of housing commissioning rates," the head of the region informed.
In the first five months, 312.5 thousand square meters of housing were commissioned. This is 182.1% compared to the same period last year.
139.4 thousand square meters of multi–apartment housing were commissioned, which is 4.7 times more than last year; individual housing – 173 thousand square meters, which is 1.2 times more.
In total, 920 thousand square meters of residential buildings are planned to be commissioned this year.
"Russian President Vladimir Putin has set serious tasks to increase the volume of construction and housing affordability. Housing security is one of the quality-of-life indicators, and the Penza Oblast continues to maintain a leading position in this area," the governor stressed.
