The discussion took place in the Republic of Belarus. During a working trip to the Mogilev region, the governor was invited to the republican festival "Alexandria Gathers Friends", which was visited by the Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko.
During the official visit, the head of the Penza Oblast held a number of business negotiations, visited production facilities and socially significant sites. At the memorial complex "Buinichskoe Pole" in Mogilev, he laid flowers as a sign of respect for the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
"We are focused on strengthening cooperation with our colleagues. It affects almost all spheres of activity: not only the economy, but also the humanitarian field in a broad sense," commented Oleg Melnichenko.
"The commonality of history and culture and our kinship with the Belarusian people make the rapprochement of the two countries absolutely natural. It is easy for us to communicate with colleagues, understand each other, and solve common problems," the governor explained.
He also noted that the regular exchange of business missions will contribute to the further integration of the economies of Belarus and Russia.
In Mogilev, the head of the Penza Oblast, and the Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko took part in the republican holiday "Kupala". This vibrant cultural event usually attracts not only local residents, but also foreign guests; in different years it was visited by thousands of people.
