The award ceremony took place in Moscow as part of the first All–Russian municipal forum "Local Homeland. Strength of Russia", organized by the All-Russian Association for the Development of Local Self-Government.
10 people became laureates of the special nomination "The fate of man – the pride of the Fatherland". They were personally congratulated by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
"This award is a tribute to people who direct their strength and energy to solve very important tasks for residents of cities and towns, and contribute to the transformation of these settlements. It is from such concrete changes for the better – for people's lives, for their well–being – that the path to new great successes begins, and out of love for our native places – different, unique, inimitable - our common understanding of the value of sovereignty, the free development of Russia, our right to determine our own future is born. And, of course, without any doubt, we guarantee this right," the Head of State noted.
Among the laureates is Nina Baurina, head of the Tatar-Lakinsky village Council of the Vadinsky district of the Penza Oblast. Nina Baurina has many children. For the birth, adoption and decent upbringing of children, she was awarded the medal "Maternal Valor".
Life tested Nina Nika Baurina for strength: she lost her first husband and daughter. But the woman's heart did not harden, but opened up to others. Now she has8 foster children: 3 girls and 5 boys – five schoolchildren and three students. There are 9 children in the Baurin family and four grandchildren are already growing up. Her example was followed by many families in this village, taking foster children. This literally helped to revive the village, save the local school, which now has someone to study in.
As the villagers say about the Baurins, peace, love, and mutual understanding always reign in the family. "We live with God, andGod helps us in all deeds," says Nina Baurina herself.
The Municipal Service Award was established on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and is awarded to outstanding representatives of the municipal community – people who have made a special contribution to the development of municipalities and improving the quality of life of citizens. This year, almost 19 thousand applications were submitted for the award from representatives of the municipal community from all over the country. 2,797,963 votes were cast for the nominees.
