The Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Volga Federal District, and the Governor of the Penza Oblast took part in the grand opening of the new laboratory and diagnostic building of the Regional Oncological Clinical Center.
There is a hematology center for children and adults; general clinical, cytogenetic, PCR laboratories; an ultrasound diagnostics; and two day hospitals for chemo and radiotherapy.
"The President of Russia pays special attention to the development of healthcare, improving its accessibility and quality," said Igor Komarov. - Cancer treatment is one of the priorities at the state level. Accurate diagnosis and appropriate equipment are needed to combat these complex diseases. Such modern oncological institutions are being created within the national healthcare project.
Igor Komarov stressed that the center was put into operation ahead of schedule.
"The decision on construction was made thanks to the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This is a new generation facility, modern methods are implemented to solve not only complex medical problems, but also to ensure a comfortable stay," the governor stated. In the last few years, a lot has been done in the region to combat cancer. 8 outpatient cancer care centers have been opened on the basis of hospitals in Penza city, Penza district, Kuznetsk and Serdobsk. We plan to continue this work, especially since new opportunities are opening up."
It is planned to build a new surgical building as well. Work is underway to include this facility in one of the federal programs.
Nine mobile medical complexes were also demonstrated to Igor Komarov. Funds for their purchase have been allocated from the federal budget. Previously, it was planned that the complexes would arrive in the region in March, but the delivery was carried out ahead of schedule.
A mobile mammograph will be sent to the Bessonovsky District Hospital. Medical institutions in Kuznetsk, Kamensky, Nizhnelomovsky and Serdobsky districts will receive unique vehicles. The machines are equipped with the paramedic-obstetric equipment. Four mobile medical complexes will be sent to Bessonovska, Lopatinsk, Sosnovoborsk and Shemysheyka district hospitals.
