A meeting was held with Yevgeny Grigoriev, Head of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, and Fyodor Boltin, Head of the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg.
Sergey Fedotov noted that our region is widely known in Russia for its cultural and historical heritage.
"In recent years, with the support of President Vladimir Putin, we have been paying special attention to the development of domestic tourism," the vice-governor stated. Guests of Penza and the region can get acquainted with various and unique objects of culture and art, visit museums and art exhibitions"
Among the objects with great tourist potential are the unique wooden planetarium that opened after reconstruction, the renovated Museum of One Painting, the Penza Art Gallery, the restored Spassky Cathedral, consecrated by the Patriarch, the Lermontov and Belinsky estate museums, and the Kuprin House Museum.
The Penza Oblast can be interesting for St. Petersburg residents for resort treatment in "Khoprovskie Zory", "Nadezhda", and "Birch Grove" facilities.
"A year ago, direct flights between Penza and St. Petersburg were opened, and the flight time is about two hours. Due to the high demand during the tourist season, the number of flights has been increased from two to four per week," the vice-governor said. Residents of St. Petersburg can visit our region and personally get acquainted with our cultural heritage."
