The governor supervised the progress of work at the school on Izmailov Street in Penza.
About one and a half billion rubles are provided for the construction of an educational institution for 1,100 children in the GPZ microdistrict within the Education national project.
To date, the school has already equipped most of the classrooms, including computer classes. The scool also has a gym, and a medical unit.
"According to out plan, the school would be state-of-the-art, equipped with everything necessary for students, with good recreation facilities, three sports halls, a gym and an assembly hall. Actually, we accomplished what we planned," Oleg Melnichenko stated.
"Most importantly, thanks to the launch of this school, we will solve a very urgent issue with the second shift, since this microdistrict is young and developing fast," he added. "I think that this school will be able to accept students this year."
The school will be assigned the number 80. It is also planned that the educational institution will be named after the ex-governor of the Penza Oblast Vasily Bochkarev.
Currently, the site is being improved, fire extinguishing and ventilation systems are being tested, offices and workshops are being upgraded with furniture and equipment.
"This year, four new schools will be put into operation in the Penza Oblast," the governor stressed. "In addition to the school on Izmailov Street, there is also a school in the Zarya microdistrict, and one in Bessonovka. The school in Bolshoy Vyas in Luninsky district started working in February."
