Three regions of Russia (Tambov, Penza and Nizhny Novgorod oblasts) will participate in a pilot project to increase the birth rate in 2024.
As part of his working trip to the Penza Oblast, Valery Yakovlev visited Serdobsk Central Regional Hospital.
He examined the building of the medical institution. Elena Kislyaeva, Deputy Chief Physician for Outpatient work, talked about improved medical examinations of the population and assessment of reproductive health, and how to effectively solve the issues that arise during this process.  
Valery Yakovlev paid special attention to the organization of the women's consultation center and the medical and social office.
"We would like to have as many children as possible in all Novgorod families," said Valery Yakovlev, head of the Nizhny Novgorod Ministry of Health.
Representatives of the two regions stressed that such an exchange of experience is useful for both sides and contributes to the successful implementation of the project aimed at increasing the number of newborns.
"2024 has been declared the Year of the Family, so our regions that are implementing pilot projects on demography need very close attention," said Natalia Tyugaeva, Deputy Minister of Health of the Penza Oblast after the meeting.
