The Governor of the Penza Oblast and the Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the VFD stated that this public project is being improved every year.

"When we started Guardsman in 2013, we also used it as a kind of experimental platform, which, among other things, unites approaches to military-patriotic education. We are talking with the Ministry of Defense, and new directions are emerging that we are introducing into the training program. We now have UAVs, polytechnics, and tactical medicine courses," Oleg Mashkovtsev said.

The Deputy Plenipotentiary drew attention to the fact that the Yunarmy military-patriotic training camp "Guardsman" gathers the best representatives of pre-conscription youth in the district, many of whom then devote their lives to serving in the army and law enforcement agencies. He also noted the high level of organization in the Penza Oblast.

"This particular project is very close to me, because I am one of its developers," Oleg Melnichenko emphasized. We use the Penza Artillery Engineering Institute to host the event. That is, there is no need to invent anything, there are teachers, there is infrastructure for training. Over the years, more than five thousand children have passed through these training camps. We make the program more complex every year: we come up with something ourselves, and children tell us what they would like to see. We try to be guided by their opinion. I think this year will be especially interesting, the guys will leave the event absolutely happy, and, I think, they will decide on their future profession."
