The governor visited the solemn opening ceremony at the new educational institution in Penza.
"Another modern educational facility has been created in Penza, we managed to put the school into operation by the Day of Knowledge. We have relieved the educational institutions of the microdistrict," Oleg Melnichenko stressed. I want to congratulate the teachers, students and their parents that the new academic year begins in such a wonderful school."
The educational institution was built as part of the national project "Education". All 44 classes are fully staffed, more than 1,100 students have been recruited.
The new school in Penza was assigned the number 80 and the name of the outstanding statesman Vasily Bochkaryov. The solemn event was attended by relatives of the ex-head of the region.
"Vasily Bochkaryov worked as the governor of the Penza Oblast for almost two decades. He had always paid special attention to the education system, culture, health and physical development of children," Oleg Melnichenko emphasized. He was one of the first regional leaders in the country, laying down the principles of a modern school back in the noughties.  What was innovative back then – labor education, the basics of entrepreneurship, family studies – has now become part of Russian educational policy."
Among the honored guests were Dmitry Ayatskov, Director of the Saratov Agglomeration and Industrial Parks Development Center, and Oleg Kukharev, Rector of Penza State Agrarian University, who praised the new educational institution.
A model has been built that allows integrating basic and additional education in six areas: technical, natural science, physical culture and sports, art, tourism and local lore, social and humanitarian subjects. Laboratories have been equipped for robotics, educational, research and design activities, modeling and technical creativity. On September 5, the children's technopark "Quantorium" will be opened at the school.
A journalism center, a school television center and a school printing house have been established. The governor presented the director of the new school with a gift certificate for the purchase of printing equipment.
The school has facilities for free creativity, an information and library center with a reading room and a book depository, an assembly hall equipped with modern equipment.
On the territory of the school there are sports grounds for volleyball and basketball, a football field with running tracks, as well as children's play areas.
"I am convinced that the best ideas of Vasily Bochkaryov will be developed at his school. I think that over time a museum dedicated to him will be created here," the governor added. "Let the students receive new knowledge, skills and abilities in this wonderful school, which will then help the graduates realize all their dreams and plans."
