As part of their visit to our region, representatives of the Federation Council's Defense and Security Committee visited the Penza Artillery and Engineering Institute (PAEI).

According to Aleksandr Tsaplyuk, head of the institution, PAEI has four faculties (including a faculty for foreign students), 17 scientific departments, and advanced training courses for employees. The Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation uses the institution for cadet training.

PAEI trains specialists in artillery and engineering field, both with higher and secondary special education, as well as doctors of science and adjuncts.

Oleg Melnichenko and the senators visited a number of departments of the Institute, got acquainted with the scientific developments of its employees and the living conditions of cadets.

Guests of the region paid tribute to the memory of generals, officers, sergeants and soldiers, workers and employees of the military institution who defended their Homeland during the Great Patriotic War. Flowers were laid at the stele "For the Glory of Russian Weapons".

The Patriot Park was built in 2021 with the museum and historical complex designed to develop cadets ' interest and respect for the military profession, preserve the historical memory of the most important events in the life of the country, and foster patriotism.

In addition to visiting the Patriot exposition, the senators visited the Start universal sports and training complex, which was commissioned in 2022. At the disposal of cadets of the military university – a playpen for volleyball, basketball, mini-football, badminton and tennis, a gym and a hall for practicing hand-to-hand combat.

The senators inspected the Start enterprise production sites in the city of Zarechny.
