Oleg Melnichenko hosted the Rosatom State Corporation's Day in the Penza Oblast. A meeting with representatives from regional companies, municipal institutions, youth groups, and community members was held at the Rameyev High-Tech Park, attended by over 300 people, including representatives from 65 Penza enterprises.
During the event, Oleg Melnichenko expressed gratitude to Rosatom for its efforts to strengthen the scientific, technological, and socio-economic capabilities of the Penza Oblast. He emphasized that the topics discussed were relevant not only to the Penza industry, but also to the entire country. Rosatom is the largest employer in the region, with more than six thousand people working in Zarechny, and the company is anticipating to employ one thousand more people in the near future.
In the first ten months of 2024, production volumes at the Penza Rosatom increased by 40%. Thanks to the support of Rosatom, Oleg Melnichenko emphasized, business and investment continue to be attracted to the Zarechny area. The enterprises in the Zarechny Priority Development Area produce high-tech products for mechanical engineering, instrumentation, construction, transportation, and the agricultural industry.
Currently, 18 residents are registered in the High Priority project, four of which appeared in 2024. Over four hundred jobs have been created by the current residents, Oleg Melnichenko said.
The governor noted that work on expanding the boundaries of the Zarechny Priority Development Area will continue. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening human resources, as more than three hundred children from Zarechny participate in the events of the Rosatom School each year.
"We also pay significant attention to training specialists for key industries. In September, we opened a specialized laboratory at the Penza IT College, which provides additional learning opportunities. This year, thanks to the regional budget, we allocated an additional 100 places for the Zarechny Technological Institute, a branch of Penza State University. In total, 500 specialists will be trained in the near future. These specialists will work at Rosatom companies, among other places," said Oleg Melnichenko.
In the past three years, we have trained 25 people in higher education programs for the company's needs. We are also developing master's degree programs.
Oleg Melnichenko concluded by saying that Penza State Technical University will take part in the competitive selection for the Professionalism Program next year for the educational cluster in our industry.
Within the four thematic sessions on industry, construction, safety, ecology, training of advanced engineering personnel, healthcare, and digitalization, employers presented their products and developments. A roadmap will be prepared to support joint projects between the Rosatom Group of companies and Penza enterprises.
