Since the launch of the “Safe and Quality Roads” priority project in 2017, and later the national project of the same name, more than 1,100 km of asphalt pavement has been repaired in Penza Oblast. Over the past eight years, a total of 1,200 road infrastructure facilities have been updated. In 2024, 2,557.5 km of the regional road network were brought up to standard.
In 2024, 166 road infrastructure objects were renovated under the national road project. Work was carried out on 147 km of asphalt pavement across regional and local road networks.
Specifically, repair work was completed on 14 regional roads with a total length of 98 km. These included three roads in Sosnovoborsky District, two in Gorodishchensky, Bashmakovsky, and Shemysheysky districts, and one in Issinsky, Lopatin, Mokshansky, Kameshkirsky, and Narovchatsky districts.
“Approximately 20 km of the network were repaired. Currently, 82.9% of the network in Penza Oblast is in standard condition (576 km),” said Aleksandr Grishayev, Minister of Construction, Transport, and Road Infrastructure of Penza Oblast.
2024 marked the final year for the national project “Safe and Quality Roads.” It will be replaced by the new national project called “Infrastructure for Life.”
