The All-Russian Strategic Forum “Cultural Reboot: Results and Prospects for the Modernization of the Library Network” in Moscow summarized the results of the national project “Culture”.
The event was attended by the Chair of the State Duma Committee on Culture of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Olga Kazakova, State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Zhanna Alexeyeva, Director General of the Russian State Library and President of the Russian Library Association (RLA) Vadim Duda, ministers of culture from various regions, and heads of federal and regional libraries from 87 regions of the Russian Federation.
“Thanks to the national project, a large-scale reboot of the library sector has been launched. In 87 regions of the Russian Federation, 1,229 model libraries have been created, providing intellectual and cultural leisure opportunities for children and adults,” said Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova in her welcoming speech.
At the forum, representatives of Russian regions that have achieved significant success in creating next-generation libraries were honored. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Penza Oblast was awarded a certificate of merit and a commemorative medal for its high level of work and effective coordination within the regional project office of the national project “Culture” in establishing model municipal libraries.
Since the launch of the national project, 11 libraries in the Luninsky, Kuznetsky, Kolyshleysky, Mokshansky, Sosnovoborsky, Penzensky, and Serdobsky districts, as well as in Penza and Nikolsk, have been modernized according to new standards and are successfully operating. Each model library features a unique design project.
In 2025, work on creating model libraries in the region will continue as part of the new national project “Family”.
