Society 14.03.2025
The meeting took place as part of the working visit of the Governor of the Penza Oblast to the new regions of the Russian Federation.
"Our program has been formed until 2030 by order of the President, agreed upon by the governors of the Penza and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts, and has been in effect since 2022," emphasized the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Penza Oblast, Viktor Kuvaitsev, who oversees restoration work in the Polohy and Tokmak municipal districts.
He recalled that the initial priority was to restore heating supply by autumn and repair schools to resume the educational process. In the first year of work, 8 schools were reopened, and 16 boiler houses were launched. Over three years, a total of 43 facilities in education, healthcare, utilities, culture, and sports have been restored.
"We are renovating sports halls, and the Sambo Federation of the Penza Oblast has agreed to help with wrestling mats. I believe this sport will be popular among schoolchildren. We are starting to establish support groups for reviving sambo," proposed Oleg Melnichenko. "Children should have opportunities not only for education but also for engaging leisure activities."
"Our region is deeply grateful for everything you are doing," responded Deputy Governor of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Roman Batrishin.
"The Penza Oblast is among the leaders in providing assistance to the Zaporizhzhia Oblast," noted the Chairman of the Regional Legislative Assembly, Viktor Emelyanenko.
