As part of her visit to the Penza Oblast, Oksana Lut toured the production site of the enterprise in the Serdobsky District.
“Mushroom Company” began operations in 2016 as a resident of the newly established Serdobsky industrial park. In 2018, with the support of the regional government, the company was granted resident status within the territory of advanced socio-economic development.
Today, it is a high-tech, full-cycle complex for growing champignons. The total indoor growing area reaches nearly 20,000 square meters. The company’s average annual output is 5,000 tons. More than 400 people are employed at the facility.
“Our main goal when launching the company was to replace imported champignons, which at that time made up nearly 100 percent of the domestic market. Now, that goal has been fully achieved — imported mushrooms are practically absent in Russia. Demand for our products remains stable. We supply mushrooms from Belgorod to Yakutsk and are considering expansion,” said Spartak Antonov, Director of “Mushroom Company.”
Using internal resources, the company plans to increase production to 6,000 tons per year, which would account for around 4 percent of the domestic market for fresh cultivated mushrooms.
Oksana Lut noted that the Russian food and processing industry is developing well, including with support from agricultural enterprises across the regions.
“We actively support the Penza Oblast, allocating an average of 1.6 billion rubles annually from the federal budget as part of our state support measures,” said the Russian Minister of Agriculture.
