Governor Oleg Melnichenko met with Yevgeny Lyulin, Coordinator of the Council of Legislators of the Volga Federal District and Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, to discuss events held in Penza as part of the 76th meeting of the Council of Legislators of the Volga Federal District.
This marks the first time Penza Oblast has hosted a gathering of legislative leaders from across the district. Key discussion topics included:
Improving legal frameworks for grassroots sports development and sports infrastructure accessibility;
Regulatory measures for organizing children’s recreational and health programs in the Volga Federal District’s regions.
"Today, Penza meets these demands like never before. While not a metropolis, it’s a comfortable, livable city with well-developed sports facilities," noted Oleg Melnichenko.
Site Visits and Youth Engagement
Council members toured:
The Zenit Football Development Center;
Voeikov Palace of Martial Arts in Penza;
The Penza Oblast Sports Museum.
They also exchanged views on promoting traditional sports among youth and participated in the 11th meeting of the Association of Youth Parliaments of the Volga Federal District.
"We’ve tasked them with taking the lead in promoting traditional sports and driving this initiative forward," said Yevgeny Lyulin. "Today, we train the youth; tomorrow, we’ll jointly implement their proposals in the Council’s decisions."
The 76th Council meeting will conclude with a plenary session.
