The results of the "10 Best Russian Newspapers-2025" competition, established by the Russian Union of Journalists and the "Journalism and Media Market" magazine, have been announced.
The expert jury evaluated newspapers' design, content, websites, project activities, and social media presence.
Among the winners was the Penzenskaya Pravda Information Center, with the regional newspaper claiming the national top spot for the ninth time. Olga Sokova, editor of the Surskiye Prostory newspaper, received recognition in the "Personal Contribution to Regional and Municipal Press Development" category.
Three Penza region publications were honored in the "Best Reader Engagement Projects" category:
Vadinskiye Vesti for its photo feature "Reveal the Photo's Secret: Following the Clues"
Novoye Vremya (Shemysheyka) for the video contest "Family: From Two to Infinity"
Serdobskiye Novosti for the photo competition "Look Through Our Family Album"
This year introduced a special nomination for municipal leaders actively developing local information spaces through collaborative projects with regional media.
Award ceremonies will be held in top-ranked locations: Lipetsk, Voronezh, Zadonsk, Divnogorsk, and this year's addition—Kaluga. Diploma recipients will be honored at the "All Russia" Media Forum in Sochi.
Background: Since 2014, the competition has highlighted excellence in creating socially relevant content, with over 1,000 publications participating to date.
