The governor visited the Pologovsky and Tokmaksky municipal districts, where Penza Oblast is assisting in the restoration of social infrastructure, including educational institutions.
The working visit began in the village of Grigoryevka, Pologovsky District, where specialists from the Penza Emergency Recovery Brigade are completing the renovation of a school building constructed in 1941. The facility is 90% ready.
The academic building, gymnasium, and connecting corridor have been renovated. A cafeteria has been arranged, the school boiler room is being modernized, and engineering systems have been fully reinstalled.
By September 1, the school, designed for 400 students, will open its doors. A total of 126 children will attend, not only from Grigoryevka but also from six neighboring settlements. Transportation will be provided by school buses.
Oleg Melnichenko inspected the school facilities accompanied by Viktor Kuvaytsev, First Deputy Chair of the Government of Penza Oblast.
The governor also visited a nearby memorial located at the site of a mass grave, where 167 local Red Army soldiers who gave their lives during the Great Patriotic War are buried.
Oleg Melnichenko laid flowers at the grave and observed a moment of silence in honor of the fallen soldiers.
