Following his visit to Zaporozhskaya Oblast, the governor conducted a working trip to the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), where a company from Penza Oblast is assisting in rebuilding the road network.
This year, the volume of work significantly exceeds the figures recorded in 2024.
Mostovik, which has been operating in the DPR since 2022, is implementing 27 infrastructure projects across the republic. Planned work includes construction, major repairs, and reconstruction of 10 road sections and 17 bridge structures.
Denis Kravchuk, head of Mostovik, reported to the governor that the construction of a 32-kilometer bypass of Mariupol on the R-280 Novorossiya route is scheduled for 2025–2028. Preparatory work for construction includes soil stripping and embankment formation. Access roads have already been completed.
“The new highway, which includes bridges, overpasses, and interchanges, will triple traffic capacity and significantly reduce travel time,” Oleg Melnichenko noted.
Mostovik has also begun reconstructing the bridge over the Kalmius River in Donetsk. This critical infrastructure, important for local residents, will be renovated for the first time in over 70 years of operation.
“Thanks to the efforts of Penza-based specialists, safe road traffic will be restored while preserving the historical appearance of the structure,” the governor emphasized.
The large-scale road restoration in the republic has been made possible in large part by the revival of production at Karansky Quarry LLC in Telmanovsky District. The quarry’s products are also used in the modernization of road infrastructure in other territories of the country, including Penza Oblast.
“The granite crushed stone from this quarry is of high quality. In March, we received the first 10 railcars. This year, we will use it in the repair and construction of roads in Penza Oblast,” Oleg Melnichenko concluded.
