Taking place in the region from August 28 to 30, the event is being held as part of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality" with support from the Penza Oblast government.
The film festival was officially started at an opening ceremony. "Penza Oblast has many talented and proactive people who proposed creating a space where those passionate about cinema could meet, connect, and communicate. Our Governor Oleg Melnichenko supported this idea, and today we have the honor of welcoming representatives of the film industry from six countries: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and, of course, Russia," said Sergei Fedotov, Vice-Governor of Penza Oblast, in his address to the attendees.
He also noted that as part of the festival, two venues will operate in the district centers of Kamenka and Serdobsk, allowing more residents of the region to experience the world of cinema.
"The festival is symbolically named 'SVOY.' It reflects our shared historical memory and moral-ethical values. We have a unified cultural space. I am convinced that this festival is destined for a long and successful future," shared Aleksey Bezugly, a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Belarus.
The event program included a creative meeting with renowned Russian actor Vladislav Kanopka, a masterclass on acting skills by a representative from the Union of Cinematographers of Kyrgyzstan, and a screening of the film "Bahadur Yalangtosh."
The first day of the festival also featured events in Kamenka.
