Winners and laureates of the IX International Photo Competition "Russian Civilization" were honored in Moscow as part of the "Peoples of Russia and CIS" festival.
First place in the "Faces and Generations" category was awarded by the jury to Oleg Kalenin, Editor-in-Chief of the Kameshkir district newspaper "Nov" for his photograph titled "Barefoot Childhood."
The competition is organized by the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs, with the main goal of harmonizing interethnic relations and promoting the ethnocultural development of Russia's peoples by drawing public attention to the origins and traditions of Russian culture.
This year, the competition received over 19,000 submissions from 3,500 authors, including both professional photographers and amateurs.
"It was a great honor to receive such a prestigious award. I thank the competition organizers for the high recognition of my work, the opportunity to participate in this significant event, and to witness the beauty of our country through the photographs of fellow authors," shared Oleg Kalenin.
