The "Parade of Memory" took place on Kuibyshev Square in Samara. The event, dedicated to the 1941 military parade, gathered over 7,500 participants for the 15th time on Europe's largest square.
Annually, the "Best Parade Unit of Russia" competition is held within the event. This spectacular contest, an integral part of the parade, is evaluated by the authoritative "Union of Generals of Samara" jury, comprising officers commanding formations and district troops, as well as participants of the Special Military Operation.
This year, approximately 20 teams competed for the top honor, with their marching coordination, movement synchronization, and bearing assessed based on command execution precision.
Following the ceremonial march, cadets from the Penza Provincial Cossack Cadet Corps demonstrated high levels of drill training and bearing, ranking among the top ten participants.
The event featured an extensive cultural and patriotic program. Tours of Stalin's Bunker, temples, libraries, and exhibitions allowed participants to explore the history of the USSR's reserve capital during the Great Patriotic War and comprehend the scale of the people's heroic feat. The ceremonial march served as the celebration's centerpiece, complemented on Kuibyshev Square by museum displays, field kitchens, and the exhibition projects "Sports Heroes in War" and military-historical vehicles.
